Abstract

Aim: The research aimed to validate the Persian version of the creative process Evaluation scale and examine its relationship with personality traits.
Method: The statistical population was made up of students from the universities in Tabriz. Sample size based on Klein (2011), 540 people were selected by multi-stage cluster sampling method. Data collection tools included the creative process assessment scale (CPAS; Görlich, 2023), the five-factor personality questionnaire (NEO-FFI; Goldberg, 1999) and the creative self-efficacy scale (CSES; Lee, 2008). The data were analyzed using SPSS26 and AMOSE26 statistical software and confirmatory factor analysis and Pearson correlation coefficient statistical methods.
Results: The results of the confirmatory factor analysis confirmed the structural model of the creative process assessment scale. The concurrent validity of this scale was confirmed with the creative self-efficacy scale (R=0.83). The reliability of the scale was with Cronbach's alpha method (0.90) and retest method (R=0.91). The most positive relationship was found between openness to experience with idea generation, conscientiousness with adaptation and realization stage, and extroversion with communication and implementation, and the most negative relationship was found between agreeableness with problem discovery and neuroticism with communication and implementation. Neuroticism and agreeableness had a negative relationship with the whole creative process.
Conclusion: The creative process evaluation scale is a valid and reliable tool for evaluating creative processes. Creative processes are related to personality traits. Paying attention to creative processes and personality differences in the organization can lead to success in solving problems at the individual and group levels.
