[English]

Aim: The present study was conducted with the aim of determining the effectiveness of the Circle of Security-Parenting (COS-P) program training on the parenting style of mothers of children with hearing impairment.
Method: This research was a quasi-experimental study with a pre-test, post-test and follow-up plan with a control group. The statistical population included all the mothers of children with hearing impairment aged 4 to 6 years in Shiraz city in 2023-2024. 30 people were selected by available sampling and randomly assigned to two experimental and control groups (15 people). Baumrind parenting styles questionnaire was used to collect data. For the experimental group, the COS-P program was implemented weekly in 10 sessions of 90-120 minutes and the data was analyzed using variance analysis with repeated measures.
Findings: The findings showed that COS-P program led to an increase in authoritarian parenting style (F=28.10, P<0.05) and a decrease in permissive parenting style (F=19.916, P<0.01) in the post-test, and this effect was significant in the follow-up stage. Also, this program had no significant effect on the authoritarian parenting style (F=1.832, P>0.05).
Conclusion: COS-P program can improve the parenting styles of mothers of hearing impaired children.
