Aim: The present study aimed to investigate the psychometric properties of the e Cybergossip Questionnaire for Adolescents (CGQ-A) among a group of Iranian adolescent students. Method: The method of this study is descriptive and correlational. The statistical population included all first and second grade high school students in Kurdistan province in the academic year 2014, from which 1384 participants (638 girls and 746 boys) were selected using cluster sampling. The factor structure and reliability as well as concurrent validity of the Iranian version (CGQ-A) were examined. Results: According to the results of confirmatory factor analysis, the one-factor structure of the scale with nine questions had a good fit with the data. The results of the correlation between this scale and the Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scale (DASS-21) and the Cyber-Bullying/Victimization Experiences Questionnaire (CBVEQ) supported the convergent validity of the Cybergossip Questionnaire for Adolescents (CGQ-A). The internal consistency of the Cybergossip Questionnaire for Adolescents (CGQ-A) was reported with a Cronbach's alpha coefficient of 0.86. Conclusion: Overall, the results of the present study confirm the validity and reliability of the Cybergossip Questionnaire for Adolescents (CGQ-A) for measuring Cybergossip in two dimensions, positive and negative, in adolescent students. Iranian Cybergossip provides a new and accurate tool for theoretical research in the virtual world in Iran.
